Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the African Airlines Association (AFRAA), operator of AeroParts by AFRAA, collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the platform.

1. Information we collect

Account data: your name, business email, phone number, company name, registered company address and tax/VAT identifiers provided at signup or in your dashboard.

Listing and transaction data: parts you list, images and certificates you upload, RFQs, quotations, invoices and deal records.

Technical data: log data, device and browser information and cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.

2. How we use your information

  • Provide and operate the marketplace, including listings, RFQs, quotations and invoicing.
  • Generate documents that include your registered company address.
  • Administer subscriptions, commissions and listing-access control.
  • Send service notifications (account, RFQ, quotation and invoice emails).
  • Detect and prevent fraud, including fraudulent airworthiness documentation.
  • Comply with legal, tax and aviation regulatory obligations.

3. How we share information

Seller identity is confidential by default and is disclosed to buyers only where the buyer's account category includes a paid subscription or as otherwise agreed. Your registered address appears on quotations and invoices you issue through the platform.

We share data with service providers that operate the platform on our behalf (hosting, database, authentication and email delivery), and with authorities where required by law.

4. Legal bases and international transfers

We process personal data on the bases of contract performance, legitimate interests in operating a secure aviation marketplace, legal obligation, and consent where required. Data may be processed outside Kenya by our infrastructure providers; we apply appropriate safeguards consistent with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.

5. Retention and security

We retain account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and thereafter as required for tax, audit and aviation traceability purposes. We apply access controls, row-level security and encrypted transport; no method of transmission is 100% secure.

6. Your rights

You may request access, correction or deletion of your personal data, or object to certain processing, by contacting us at the address below. You can update most company details directly in your dashboard.
